Manager, Software Engineering (Imaging)
Job Summary
We are seeking a Software Engineering Manager and an Associate Software Engineering Manager. to lead a mission-focused team building solutions that improve the lives of Henry Schein One users and their patients. You’ll set the tone by shaping technical strategy, mentoring engineers, and delivering high-availability dental imaging solutions. You'll recruit and retain top talent, creating a high-performing engineering team, and guiding engineers as they take ownership of their missions and delivery commitments.
Our teams work with context, autonomy, and a focus on solving meaningful problems. We’re raising the bar on deployment frequency and technical practices - mastering scrum and operating in 6-week cycles that balance innovation, technical debt, and customer needs.

- Lead and grow a mission-focused team of 5 engineers and test engineers to deliver market-leading solutions on our dental imaging platform
- Recruit, retain, and develop engineers by inspiring, motivating, and coaching team members to build a culture of high performance, trust, and continuous growth
- Oversee the team and support them in achieving their missions and delivery commitments
- Enable your team by removing workflow roadblocks and improving processes
- Ensure products are secure, compliant, and reliable for Henry Schein One customers
- Collaborate with senior leaders on vision and strategy, aligning your teams’ work with company goals
- Partner closely with Product leadership to influence and deliver on strategic commitments
- Build cross-functional relationships to drive the best possible user experiences
- Mature engineering practices and processes to support global growth opportunities
- Positively and collaboratively influence decision-making across teams, departments, and stakeholders
Travel/Physical Demands
- Travel typically less than 10%
- Office environment with no special physical demands required

Qualifications
What You Will Have
- 5 -7 years of progressive software development experience
- 1 or more years leading high-performing teams in remote/hybrid environments
- Proven technical expertise with modern development practices; able to contribute code and architecture guidance
- Experience balancing leadership and delivery, thriving in a player-coach role
- People Leadership: Mentoring, coaching, and enabling career development
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to influence across disciplines and senior leadership
- Outcome-oriented mindset, skilled at balancing technical debt, bugs, innovation, and new features in alignment with business goals
- Adaptability and agility, championing continuous improvement in both process and product
Nice to Haves
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science
- Specialized experience in device driver development, including low-level programming and hardware/software integration
The posted range for this position is $120,000 - $165,000 which is the expected starting salary range for an employee who is new to the role to fully proficient in the role. Many factors go into determining employee pay within the posted range including prior experience, current skills, location/labor market, internal equity, etc. This position is eligible for a bonus target not reflected in the range.
