Job Summary

This position is responsible for providing technical and functional solution discovery and demonstrations to prospective and existing customers to support new sales, retention, and expansion opportunities within the TechCentral managed services business. The Solutions Consultant partners closely with Sales, Henry Schein Dental field teams, and internal SaaS stakeholders to design, position, and demonstrate integrated IT solutions for dental practices and DSOs.

This role supports both recurring managed IT services (MSP) and one-time technology and infrastructure projects, including servers, workstations, networking, security, and cloud solutions. The primary focus is on customers and accounts in the 1–7 segment, with exposure to larger group practices as needed.

The Solutions Consultant creates and delivers TechCentral presentations and solution demonstrations that clearly articulate business outcomes, risk mitigation, and operational value. This role designs, validates, and presents end-to-end technology solutions that may include Henry Schein One software, TechCentral managed services, and third-party complementary products, while clearly differentiating TechCentral’s approach relative to competitors.

This role may also partner with Marketing to create enablement content such as videos, webinars, and presentations.

What you will do

  • Spend up to 80% of time performing technical solution discovery and presentations for customers, partners, and prospects in support of TechCentral sales opportunities.

  • Provide consultative technical and sales support for managed IT services, cybersecurity, backup and disaster recovery, cloud solutions, endpoint management, and dental technology infrastructure.

  • Translate technical features into customer-facing value drivers, business outcomes, and risk reduction narratives relevant to dental practices.

  • Design and present hybrid solutions that combine recurring MSP services with one-time hardware and infrastructure purchases (servers, workstations, firewalls, networking, imaging acquisition PCs).

  • Partner closely with TechCentral Sales, Henry Schein Dental Field Sales Consultants, Equipment Specialists, Regional Area Managers, and internal SaaS sales teams to support complex, multi-stakeholder opportunities.

  • Present and articulate TechCentral and Henry Schein One solution strengths relative to competitive MSPs, local IT providers, and national vendors.

  • Collaborate with Product Management, Services, and Engineering to provide customer feedback, refine service offerings, and improve implementation and adoption outcomes.

  • Effectively communicate customer requirements, objections, and technical gaps to internal stakeholders to improve offerings and sales execution.

  • Assist with responses to RFPs and RFIs, including solution design, technical narratives, and scope validation.

  • Collaborate with Implementation and Customer Success teams to ensure successful handoff and alignment for sold solutions when needed.

  • May attend trade shows and deliver presentations at dental and technology industry events.

Travel / Physical Demands

  • Travel typically less than 10%.

Qualifications

Must have:

  • Typically 3–5 or more years of increasing responsibility in applicable professional experience.

  • Minimum of 3 years of prior Pre-Sales, Solutions Consulting, Systems Engineering, or Solution Architect experience supporting IT services, MSP, or technology solutions sold to small-to-mid market customers.

  • Experience selling or supporting solutions in a SaaS, MSP, HaaS, or cloud-based environment, including exposure to C-level or VP-level buyers.

  • Bachelor’s degree or global equivalent in a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

  • Strong understanding of dental technology environments, including practice management software, imaging systems, and IT infrastructure.

  • Ability to see and present the big picture, architect end-to-end solutions, uncover business and technical challenges, and develop tailored recommendations.

  • Strong customer-facing and relationship-building skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including needs analysis, solution positioning, and business justification.

  • Demonstrated understanding of the operational, security, and compliance challenges facing dental practices.

  • Working knowledge of competitive MSP and IT service offerings.

  • Proficient with tools, systems, and procedures (CRM, presentation tools, collaboration platforms).

  • Strong planning, organization, decision-making, and problem-solving skills with the ability to multi-task.

  • Strong presentation and public speaking skills.

Nice to have:

  • Experience with managed services platforms (RMM, PSA, security tools) or IT infrastructure vendors.

  • Knowledge of Henry Schein One software portfolio (Dentrix Ascend/Enterprise, analytics, communications).

  • Experience supporting hardware, networking, and security solutions in a healthcare or dental environment.

The posted base range for this position is $52,000-$65,000 with an On Target Earnings range of $75,000-$90,000. This is the expected range for an employee who is new to the role, to fully proficient in the role. Many factors go into determining employee pay within the posted range including education, prior experience, training, current skills, certifications, location/labor market, internal equity, etc.
