Job Summary

You will be part of a talented team of software engineers who strive to provide a best-in-class solution for our dental customers. This position is responsible for performing advanced full stack programming tasks for the maintenance and enhancement of our Dentrix Enterprise Practice Management System with a focus on the financial domain.

What You Will Do

  • Collaborate with managers and staff engineers to provide technical leadership across teams
  • Model and mentor in class best practices to improve engineering processes 
  • Communicate and assist in development of architectural standards and mentor other developers in their use
  • Craft code that reflects an expert understanding of object-oriented design, refactoring, clean code, clean architecture and solid engineering principles
  • Follow the Test Driven Development (TDD) paradigm
  • Work with Product and UX Designers to create clean, intuitive user interfaces (WPF and WinForms)
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum meetings and code reviews
  • Mentor other team members through pair programming
  • Solve complex problems using knowledge, passion, and curiosity 
  • Partner with our DevOps team to build and support CI/CD pipelines

Qualifications

What You Will Have

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science preferred or equivalent professional work experience
  • 8+ years of experience building backend software utilizing our technology stack
  • Prior as experience as a team or tech lead is preferred
  • Expert level experience in unit testing
  • Understanding of domain driven design
  • Understanding and defining cross-team interdependent roadmaps
  • Experience working in an agile environment (Jira a plus) 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Enjoy sharing ideas with, and learning from other team members 
  • Effectively estimate engineering work within 6-12 month timelines
Nice to Haves
  • Understanding of Behavioral Driven Development (BDD)
  • Past experience converting legacy applications to a micro service architecture
  • Knowledge of HL7 FHIR

The posted range for this position is $115,000 - $150,000 which is the expected starting base salary range for an employee who is new to the role to fully proficient in the role. Many factors go into determining employee pay within the posted range including prior experience, current skills, location/labor market, internal equity, etc. This position is eligible for a 12.5% bonus not reflected in the posted range.
