The Provider Sales Team Lead is responsible for leading, coaching, and developing a team of Provider Marketing Agents while supporting provider enrollment growth through field sales, practice outreach, trade shows, and industry events. This role serves as the day-to-day leader of the Provider Marketing Program (PMP) team, driving performance through coaching, training, performance analytics, agent development and direct field engagement with dental practices. The ideal candidate is a results-oriented sales leader with strong communication, coaching, and analytical skills who can leverage data and field insights to drive team performance and business growth.
This position is Remote within the United States with up to 10% travel as needed.
What you will do:
Team Leadership & Daily Operations
Lead, coach, and develop a team of 6–8 Provider Marketing Agents to achieve enrollment, referral production, quality activity, and practice production targets.
Drive achievement of goals through performance management, coaching, accountability, and continuous development and monitoring of key performance metrics.
Conduct regular one-on-ones, call reviews, team huddles, and coaching sessions to improve sales effectiveness and performance.
Conduct quality assurance reviews, monitor adherence to sales standards, and implement corrective action plans as needed.
Serve as the primary escalation point for provider, practice, and agent issues requiring leadership intervention.
Participate in recruiting, onboarding, and training new team members and support agent ramp-up activities.
Leverage performance data and sales analytics to identify trends, improve agent effectiveness, and drive achievement of sales and production goals.
Lead the onboarding and sales training to the agent team on messaging frameworks, competitive counter-tactics, and product education.
Own new practice activation: ensure newly enrolled practices consistently recommend dental savings plans to patients and progress to active production status, with accountability for tracking activation milestones and coaching agents on practice engagement strategies.
Field Sales & Practice Development
Execute an approved field call pattern and submit activity reports with emphasis on driving enrollment and referral production.
Identify high-value practices within territory for targeted outreach and re-engagement, and coordinate follow-up with the agent team.
Conduct in-office visits to dental practices to promote the DentalPlans.com Provider Marketing Program, strengthen practice relationships, and increase program participation.
Enroll new dental practices into the Provider Marketing Program and train office staff on presenting dental savings plans to uninsured patients.
Execute field outreach strategies and document activities, opportunities, and results within CRM systems.
Gather field intelligence, provider feedback, and competitive insights to support program enhancements and business strategy.
Tradeshow & Event Execution
Represent DentalPlans.com at key dental industry tradeshows and events to generate leads, enroll new practices, and increase program awareness.
Own lead management from tradeshows and events, ensuring timely outreach and conversion to enrolled, producing accounts.
Provide post-event performance recaps, including lead volume, enrollment results, key learnings, and recommendations for future participation.
Develop and maintain a tradeshow performance scorecard that establishes consistent measurement criteria across events, including cost-per-lead, enrollment conversion rate, and practice activation timelines, to support future event ROI decisions.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Collaborate with Product, Product Marketing, Network Development, and other internal stakeholders to improve provider experience and support provider growth objectives.
Communicate feedback, operational challenges, and market insights that may influence program enhancements and business decisions.
Support integrated campaigns, and process improvement initiatives that enhance provider acquisition, engagement, and retention
What we are looking for:
Typically, 2 or more years of related support experience; 1 or more years of management experience.
- Typically, a bachelor’s degree or global equivalent in related discipline.
Good management skills and ability to motivate teams
Good verbal and written communication skills and ability to resolve disputes effectively
Good presentation and public speaking skills
Good decision making, analysis and problem solving skills with ability to multi-task
Ability to learn applicable computer systems and other business required competencies
Understand financial information that impacts department
Ability to plan and coordinate successful projects
Communicate effectively with team(s)
What will set you apart:
Demonstrated ability to manage and coach a telesales or field sales team against measurable performance targets
Direct experience conducting field sales visits and/or representing a company at industry tradeshows or events
Strong working knowledge of dental savings plans, provider marketing programs, or dental industry sales a plus
Ability to analyze individual and team performance data and translate findings into actionable coaching and improvement plans
Experience with lead follow-up and conversion tracking, particularly in a post-event or field sales context
Ability to deliver product and sales training to a team in both formal and informal settings
Strong time management skills and ability to balance field commitments with day-to-day team management responsibilities
Medical and/or dental product knowledge a plus
The posted base range for this position is $55,000-60,000 plus commission. This is the expected range for an employee who is new to the role, to fully proficient in the role. Many factors go into determining employee pay within the posted range including education, prior experience, training, current skills, certifications, location/labor market, internal equity, etc.
